I met up with Dara and Zach on a Friday night in Downtown Corpus Christi for their couples session. There are so many little spots downtown that I’ve been wanting to photograph. I had a vision in mind for a sweet couples session by these stairs and posted on my Instagram looking for a couple to model for me. When Dara responded with enthusiasm right away, I knew it was going to be a fun session!

To be completely honest, these two made my job EASY! Their laughter was contagious and made for the most joy filled photos. I could tell right away that they shared a lot of laughs and inside jokes in their marriage. They trusted my sometimes silly sounding prompts and enjoyed each other’s company – and you can tell by the big smiles in their photos.

My number one tip for couples (or families or individuals) who may be nervous for their session is to just lean into the experience, be yourself, and have fun! The best photos are the ones that capture you as YOU, not a posed and poised version of you. Laugh with your husband, lean into the silly prompts I may give you, and do your best to forget that the camera is there: it will pay off with gorgeous images.
