Claire and Antonio’s golden hour wedding ceremony at The Chapel on the Dunes in Port Aransas was so memorable to me because of the intention and emotion behind it. Every time I take wedding photos at the little coastal chapel I’m reminded that the most important part of a wedding day is the marriage, not the venue, the decor, or the guest count. While I also love traditional full day weddings, intimate elopements hold a special place in my heart and I love getting to document them!
They chose to get married on a November evening with their parents and siblings in attendance. Antonio walked in first with his mom, followed by Claire and her mom. Claire’s dad officiated their ceremony. It was so evident how important their families are in their lives. They put together a playlist of their favorite music that was lightly playing in the background and it just added to the emotion of the moment. Every single person teared up as they read the vows they wrote to each other. Golden sun was pouring in through the windows as they shared their first kiss, and I just remember thinking “this is why l love what I do”. Getting to capture moments like this that mean everything to the people in them is just such an honor.
After their first kiss their families surprised them with a bubble exit which was so sweet! We took their photos with all of their family members as they celebrated, and then took plenty of photos of just the newlyweds around the chapel. As the sun started setting Claire + Antonio headed down to the beach in their golf cart (with a just married sign, of course) and we finished the night with some carefree beach photos!
If you’re planning an elopement at Chapel on the Dunes, I would love to be your photographer!
Remember how this season of life felt with photos that you'll treasure forever
